Privacy Policy
Effective date: October 25, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains what personal information uLogger ("uLogger," "we," "us," or "our") collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. It covers our website at ulogger.ai, the uLogger web app at holodeck.ulogger.ai, and the uLogger API (together, the "Service").
1. Data you send from your devices
Logs, metrics, telemetry, crash dumps, and other data your devices and software send to uLogger are "Customer Data" under our Terms of Service. We process Customer Data on your behalf, as a data processor, only to operate, maintain, and improve the Service. You decide what your devices send. Customer Data can include device identifiers such as serial numbers, MAC addresses, and IP addresses, and uLogger does not filter log contents. Retention and deletion of Customer Data follow the Terms: the default retention is 90 days, subject to your plan.
The rest of this policy covers the information we collect about you as a website visitor, account holder, or customer.
2. Information we collect
Account information
When you create an account we collect your name, email address, and password. Passwords are handled by Amazon Cognito and are never stored by uLogger in readable form. We also store the name of your organization, your role in it, and the members you invite.
Billing information
Payments are processed by Stripe. Card details are entered directly into Stripe's secure form and never reach uLogger's servers. Stripe holds the billing name, invoice email, and any billing address you provide. We keep a record of your invoices (number, amount, status, and billing period) and the number of active devices we bill for.
Forms on our website
If you request a demo, we collect your name, email address, and, if you choose to give them, your phone number, company, and use case. If you request our white paper, we collect your email address and whether you asked to receive updates. We use these to respond to you and, if you opted in, to send updates.
Usage and device information
- Website: we use Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity to understand how visitors use ulogger.ai. They collect pages viewed, clicks, scrolling, approximate location, browser and device type, and, for Clarity, session recordings of the page. Form fields are masked in those recordings.
- Web app: we use PostHog to measure page views and where people click (heatmaps). Events are tied to an internal account identifier, not to your name or email. Session recording and automatic capture of on-screen text are turned off in the web app.
- Advertising measurement: we advertise on LinkedIn. The website loads the LinkedIn Insight Tag, which sends LinkedIn your IP address, browser information, the pages you visit, and whether you request a demo or click to create an account, so LinkedIn can report which of our ads led to visits and sign-ups and can show our ads to people who visited the site. The website also saves the campaign details from the link you arrived on (UTM parameters) in your browser, to attribute demo requests and sign-ups to the campaign that brought you.
- Server logs: our servers and security services record IP addresses, request times, and browser information to keep the Service running and secure.
Emails we send
We send account and service emails, such as email verification, password resets, device and data-limit alerts, and invoices. We also send important product updates, such as changes to features, pricing, or these policies. These are part of the Service and can't be turned off while you have an account, though you can adjust alert emails in your notification settings. From time to time we also email account holders about new features. Those emails include an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing doesn't affect the service emails above.
Integrations you connect
If you connect GitHub, we store the details needed to create issues in the repositories you choose, and we send the issue content you ask us to create to GitHub.
3. How we use information
- To provide, operate, and secure the Service, and to authenticate you.
- To bill for paid plans and send invoices and receipts.
- To send service emails and alerts you have configured.
- To respond to demo requests, support questions, and other messages.
- To understand how the website and web app are used so we can improve them.
- To prevent abuse and comply with legal obligations.
We do not sell your personal information for money. The LinkedIn Insight Tag described above shares your activity on our website with LinkedIn for advertising, which some privacy laws, including California's, treat as "sharing" or as a "sale" of personal information. You can limit it by blocking third-party cookies or using a tracker blocker, and by changing your ad preferences in your LinkedIn settings. The web app does not load the LinkedIn Insight Tag.
4. Service providers
We share information with providers that help us run the Service. Except for LinkedIn, which also uses website activity for its own advertising services as described in section 3, their contracts limit their use of it to providing their service to us:
- Amazon Web Services: hosting, databases, storage, sign-in (Amazon Cognito), and email delivery (Amazon SES).
- Timescale: hosted database for device metrics.
- Stripe: payment processing and invoicing.
- Mailgun: email delivery.
- PostHog: web app product analytics.
- Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity: website analytics.
- LinkedIn: website advertising measurement (LinkedIn Insight Tag).
- GitHub: only if you connect it.
We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect the rights and safety of uLogger and its users, or as part of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, in which case this policy continues to apply to the information transferred.
5. Cookies and similar technologies
The website uses cookies set by Google Analytics, Microsoft Clarity, and LinkedIn, and stores the campaign details of the link you arrived on in your browser's local storage. The web app stores your sign-in session in your browser and uses a PostHog cookie to count visits. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Blocking them on the website doesn't affect what you can see, but the web app needs its sign-in storage to keep you logged in.
6. How long we keep information
- Account information: while your account is open. It is deleted when you delete your account or your organization is deleted, except where we must keep it.
- Billing records and invoices: as long as tax and accounting law requires.
- Website form submissions: until you ask us to delete them, or once they are no longer needed to respond to you.
- Analytics data: according to each provider's retention settings.
- Customer Data: as described in the Terms of Service.
7. Security
We protect information with encryption in transit and at rest, access controls, and network isolation of our databases. No system is perfectly secure, so we can't guarantee absolute security.
8. Your choices and rights
In the web app, organization owners can update the organization name and billing details and can delete the organization, and you can delete your own account. You can also ask us to access, correct, export, or delete your personal information, or to stop sending you marketing updates, by emailing legal@ulogger.ai. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws such as the GDPR or the California Consumer Privacy Act, including the right to object to or restrict processing and to complain to a data protection authority. We will not treat you differently for exercising these rights.
If your organization uses uLogger and your information is part of its Customer Data, please contact your organization; we will help it respond to your request.
9. Where information is processed
uLogger is based in the United States, and the Service is hosted in the United States. If you use the Service from outside the United States, your information is transferred to and processed in the United States.
10. Children
The Service is not intended for anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. We will change the effective date above, and for significant changes we will notify account holders by email or in the web app before they take effect.
